2 Mar

I want Percussion and Spanish and Ska and Reggae, and Spanish guitar and something straight from like mountains and the jungle you know what I mean?

Who: SUDAKAYA

Where: D’Antigua Lounge 84-16 Northern Blvd Jackson Heights, NY 11372

Time: 10PM to 4AM

Once upon a time there was this band called Sudakaya, originating from Ecuador, it just so happens that I just found out they are playing right in my backyard tomorrow night in the yummy borough of Queens; I say yummy because the main reason why I even moved to Queens is because of the food, but that’s another topic. Really no reason for me to miss this then, I’m totally walking distance to this spot.

OK no need to explain much, let’s experience first hand what they are all about tomorrow, that’s it, I liked these guys the instant I first listened to their music a couple of years ago, and they are onto something… I cannot wait to see what kind of energy and vibes I pick up.

This track below  is titled MI TIERRA  which means  MY LAND and the chorus translates ” They might come to rob your mind, they’ll want to come to exploit of it all. But your blood and your land will not be forgotten, but your blood on the land will not be erased”…well that’s my translation anyways.

I’ll have a conversation tomorrow and see what else is on their mind.  I’m looking forward to a night of good jams, tequila for me( quick fact: did you know that tequila is an anti-depressant?...)makes me happy.
